FAQs

Our cruises have limited storage, so please bring only your necessities on board. Items to bring along with you could include a phone, towel, hat, sunscreen and clothing to protect you from the sun. We have a few watertight areas on board, but please be aware that your belongings may get wet. If you are concerned, it would be helpful to bring a Ziploc bag for items that you are worried about.

All of our boats are kept at Bristol Marina, which is conveniently located in Downtown Charleston next to Joe Reilly Baseball Stadium. We are minutes away from several hotels located on King Street, Meeting Street, and Market Street. Parking is also available at the marina if you choose to drive.

A little rain won’t ruin your trip, but lightning can. Our captains will watch the radar to determine the safety of your trip. If the weather is deemed as being too dangerous by your captain, we will happily refund your deposit. If your trip is cancelled due to weather, we will do our best to reschedule your cruise on a different day with better weather, if possible. Please know that the weather in Charleston is unpredictable, and forecasts tend to be inaccurate.

We can take a bathroom break whenever you request. We are happy to stop for your convenience. Our larger yachts all have bathrooms on board.

Though tips are not mandatory, they are very much appreciated. Has your RedFin captain provided an outstanding experience on your cruise? Did your family have a great time? These are things to consider when tipping. Our guides have had experiences where they walk away from cruises with no tip, and others where they are tipped for their work. A typical tip for a half-day trip is $80-$100, and around $100-$140 for a full-day trip depending on the experience that you had.

Booking your trip with a $100 deposit ensures that a captain will be reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, please call us as soon as possible. By doing so, you allow us to offer your time slot to others. You will receive a full refund of your deposit if you cancel by phone more than 48 hours in advance. If you cancel your trip with 48 hours or less in advance of your time slot, your deposit will go toward a future cruise that you can book within the next 12 months, depending on availability. In the event that you do not show up for your time slot, you will forfeit your deposit unless you have written proof of a death in the family or a recent hospitalization.
